Is Sloth. Actually, it's the sin of pretty much everyday. I am, to put not too fine a point on it, bone idle. If I were ever to appear in Who's Who; unlikely as due to said bone idleness I seldom do anything, my interests would be gazing into space, procrastinating, napping, tea drinking, and more gazing. Even my hobbies are picked on the grounds that they can be carried out from a virtually horizontal position, reading , knitting, etc. Not much aerobic exercise there.
This can be slightly frustrating.Today, for example, I really need to buy new trousers. Hardly a Herculean effort by any definition. However, in my head (and I'm currently on day five of a really niggly headache which comes and goes, making me both weary and a bit sick feeling) it has become an epic and I'm not sure I've got the energy. First I'd need to get up and have a bath. Hair would have to be washed and dried.I would need to find my shoes. It's not faaaairrrr. The other day I was bemoaning my lack of a butler. I was only half joking. I have a whole week off work next week. This is pretty much bliss. I have actually made plans for three days. This is partly because I have lovely friends with very busy lives and I don't often get to see some of them in the normal run of things. It's also partly so that when I go back to work I am spared the indignity of having to answer the "what did you do on your week off question" with, " I read 7 novels, napped on the sofa and ate biscuits." Hardly dynamic.
I think, natural indolence aside, the crux of the problem is work. Firstly the having to do it at all thing is kind of a pain. Secondly the fact that I'm not lazy at work.I work very hard at something I get precious little pleasure from. This is draining. Circle of viciousness ensues in that on my days off I'm tired and antsy and can't summon up the energy required to think about what I want to do, let alone do much about doing it. I really need to give myself a big kick up the arse, but, y'know it's kind of difficult to do that when you're prone on the sofa.
