Incidentally

I was discussing the whole books as wooing device thing with my friend, Squirrel. She argued that if you give someone Wuthering Heights the subtext is  "I like it rough" wheras the subliminal message of Pride and Prejudice is " I am DESPERATE to get married."

Much less terrified today. Brilliant interview with Judith Kerr in today's Guardian had me rushing to read The Tiger who came to Tea. Was my most very favourite book as a wee one and still has a special place in my heart.
